Dramatic Scenery of Switzerland
the Swiss Alps
Switzerland lies in the heart of Europe and is better known for its delicious chocolates and numerous ski resorts and is lesser known for the great diversity of culture, landscapes and climates. Switzerland is a relatively small country yet it still manages to amaze visitors with its breathtaking waterfalls and charming villages.

Being in the centre of Europe the surrounding countries have naturally had a huge influence on Switzerland. The three main languages spoken here are Italian, French and German. The mixture of cultures has created a country that does not identify itself by having a common ethnic or linguistic identity, but rather the peoples foundations are on a common historical background with shared values.
The Central Plateua has greater open landscapes than the other two regions and compromises of partial forests and pastures blanketed across hilly ground. It is here where you will find large lakes and the larger Swiss cities. The largest and most famous lake is Lake Geneva which shares its shores with France.
